Jill Greenberg

As much as I love to write, I also enjoy photography. Every now and then I decide to indulge myself and I pick up my camera and go clicking.
Here's a few shots that I like:
- Camera Shy

- Sakura

- Slice of Life

- Depth

- Layers

There you have it, a little window into a world you may or may not have known I enjoy. I'm no Jill Greenberg with a camera, but I'm working at it.
I think I'm an engaging writer; I enjoy the process, the end result and I'm good at it. Now I love photos and photography, I love the process; and as for the end result, I'm still working on it. There are so many great photographers out there. And I have seen the work of a few of my friends and its excellent, such as the work of Jasmine, Keomi and FJ.
What I'm getting at is, I'm not as skilled as famous photographer Jill Greenberg, and I don't have the experience or style of some of my friends; but I work at it anyways. I figure there was a time when most photographers didn't know anything about photography, just that they wanted to do it. Also, I can imagine there was a time when a great photographer was still honing his or her skills. (Not that I'll ever be a great photographer, but you get the point.)
So, when I do something, that I'm not the best at, I simply imagine myself as being in the earlier stages of greatness. Learning as much as I can, and working at the process with great passion and intensity, not because I'm good at it, but because I want to be.
So go about your day with greatness. Do whatever you do, do whatever you love, do all that you do, with greatness.
And not because you are great, even better, because you aspire to be.

  1. Mike,

I feel priviledged to make your "slice of life" post. Even better, I love your words of wisdom. Quite inspiring.

Greatness comes to those that do, not those that wait to do. (Unfortunately, I am still waiting for my greatness...lol!)

Keep up the good word, my friend; keep those posts coming!
